Order Out for Pizza? Just Print it out! The Pizza that is!

A $125,000 pizza? Food for thought: NASA has given a six-month grant to a company developing what could be the world’s first 3-D food printer. And the project’s developer, reports Quartz, an online digital news site, believes the invention could be used to end world hunger. Enter: A 3D printer that can print out real edible food!  The star trek replicator is now a reality!

3D Food Printer

Quartz explains that the printer is the brainchild of mechanical engineer Anjan Contractor. Being developed by Contractor’s company, Systems & Materials Research Corp., it will use proteins, carbohydrates and sugars to create edible food products.

Contractor says one of his primary motivations is a belief that food will become exponentially more expensive in the near future. The average consumer, he told Quartz, will need a more economically viable option.

Some alternative food source options that may be used with the printer include algae, duckweed, grass, lupine seeds, beet leaves and even insects, according to TNO Research, which is working with Contractor on the project.

Ohio valley mall security VS people taking pictures

Clearly this security “officer” needed some help – mental help! Add mall director Joe Bell to that list of mental retards for supporting the actions of officer doofus!

In what could have easily been mistaken as a seen from Saturday Night live skit, a clearly brainless security guard confronts and attacks bystanders taking pictures of a traffic accident adjacent to mall property in Ohio.

During last week’s accident in which a semi plunged into a ravine near the Ohio Valley Mall, a scuffle broke out between a mall security guard and a woman taking photos of the accident.

Mall Director of Corporate Communications, Joe Bell, told WTRF on Monday that the fight occurred on mall property and the security guard was doing her job and was explaining to the woman that no pictures were allowed on mall property when the fight broke out.

Bell added no one was charged in the incident.  Feeling safer with the modern day female equivalent of Barney Fife on the job?
